On Saturday, The Rams take on Championship new boys Huddersfield Town. NathanMorley.co.uk gets the views of a Huddersfield blogger on his team ahead of the game.
HTFC Hub has kindly answered some questions previewing the game.
How’s your season gone so far?
The start of the season for us has been extremely positive. Even our loss against Cardiff in the opening fixture left all Town fans on a massive high due to a committed, strong performance from all of our players in the squad. A lucky point at home against Nottingham Forest followed but then a superb performance & result against Burnley got us our first victory in The Championship for eleven years. We could have easily notched another victory away at Ipswich but it wasn’t meant to be. The start of the season has been a great one for the terriers.
Which players should we watch out for?
Scannell – pace on the wing with no fear of taking players on and running with the ball at his feet. Expect big things from him this season. However he may be a bit off the pace due to coming back from injury.
Clayton – experienced midfielder has a point to prove and has attacking flair that can hurt other teams. Scored his first goal for the terriers in our last game. Also not afraid of putting his foot in to win challenges.
Norwood – ex Manchester United says it all. Makes time for himself on the ball and compliments the midfield trio well. Creates chances from nothing with a keen eye for defence splitting passes but also sturdy in defence. Norwood can be a match winner and is only getting better.
Hunt – right back is getting a name for himself already in this league after keeping Craig Bellamy in his pocket in our opening game. Bursts forward on overlapping runs and has been brought down twice in the box to win the terriers penalties.
Vaughan – finally our on loan striker. Pace to burn and got himself on the scoresheet in our last game. When he is fit he is dangerous in the air, on the ground & causes problems for any defence. And guess what? He is fit!
How should we expect your team to play?
We will try and dominate the game with our midfield. The trio of Clayton, Southern & Norwood feed off one another and all are both aggressive & committed. Expect hard tackles flying in quite regularly. Wouldn’t be suprised if we started with a 4-5-1 formation (yes even at home) as our midfield has the ability to quickly support the striker. We may also just line-up in a 4-4-2 formation
And finally, your prediction for the game?
Think we will be able to pick up a victory with us being at home. Going for a 2-1 win with goals from Clayton + Vaughan!
Thanks HTFC hub for answering the questions.
