Cardiff’s attempts to capture Coventry defender Richard Keogh face an increased threat after the Sky Blues accepted an £800,000 offer from Derby. Cardiff looked like the destination for Keogh but now Coventry have given Keogh permission to talk to The Rams that could all change. Keogh says he wants to speak with all the interested parties before he makes a decision, while Coventry want the best possible price and are delighted there is competition for the defender. Cardiff are not out of the running, but it is becoming increasingly clear that they are not going to be given a free ride in securing his signature, with Leeds and Bristol City still in the mix for the defender. The Welsh side have already had a bid turned down. The Rams have been given permission to talk to Keogh by Coventry. Richard Keogh stayed at home while Coventry team mates went to a pre-season camp elsewhere last week as The Sky Blues appear to be resigned to losing their player of the year.
