Q and A: Former Ram Michael Johnson

Here’s a few question and answers with former Derby County defender Michael Johnson.

The Ex-Captain made nearly 140 appearances for Derby and scored 4 goals. He played a part in The Rams’ promotion year (2006/07) and was part of the 2004/05 side including  Iñigo Idiakez and Grzegorz Rasiak that reached the play-off semi finals. He was widely regarded as a favourite with many fans during his time at Pride Park. The central defender made nearly 150 appearances for Notts County in three spells at Meadow Lane and made over 260 appearances for Birmingham, including League Cup glory. The Former Ram was also an international for Jamaica.

What’s your career highlight at Derby?

Career highlight at Derby has to be climbing the Wembley stairs to lift aloft the play off trophy in front of thousands of fans.

What was your best performance in a Rams shirt?

My best performance would probably be in the drubbing of Forest at Pride Park where Pesch scored the infamous kenco cup goal.

Who was most influencial player of the famous 2006/07 promotion winning team?

Most influential player for me was Matt Oakley a underrated player who was different class as a player but also as a individual.
