DCFC: The Latest Transfer Stories

Here’s the latest transfer stories. (posted on 8/7/12)

Joel Lynch

Both Derby County and Huddersfield are showing interest in Joel Lynch, who left bitter rivals Nottingham Forest earlier this summer. Lynch is centre half however he can also occupy the left back position.

Nathan Tyson

Yesterday rumours said that Peterborough are believed to be lining up a bid for Tyson. However Derby fans on twitter asked Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony ‘any truth in Nathan Tyson to Peterborough rumours?’ to which he replied ‘nope’. The club have said it’s 50/50 whether Tyson will move on but if he does, it appears Peterborough aren’t that club after their chairman denied rumours.

Miles Addison

A deal taking Miles Addison out of Derby is expected to be completed soon with Bournemouth expected to be the club he will move to. Peterborough were rumoured to have offered the out of favour Rams player a deal but The Posh’s chairman Darragh MacAnthony has denied that his club are interested, Derby fans asked him on twitter about Addison. His reply was ‘Nope on that one as well. Neither players (Addison and Tyson) on our hit list at all but good luck to them’

Kelvin Mellor

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis has urged defender Kelvin Mellor to stay at the club after the defender was offered a three-year deal by Derby. Crewe have also offered him a deal, he is considering whether to stay at Crewe or make the journey to Pride Park. “Kelvin’s just broken into the first team in the last five or six weeks of the season, and although he did very, very well it’s still very early in his career. Although he is a late starter and we’ve had to wait a long time for him, he’s been worth the wait. But now he’s got to be patient and prove himself in League One.” The Crewe boss said.

Jose Baxter

Everton’s Jose Baxter has rejected a new contract at Goodison Park. Derby, Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday are reported to be interested. the striker has represented England at under 16 and under 17 level. He is Everton’s youngest ever senior player, aged 16 years and 191 days he came on as a sub against Blackburn on the opening day of the 2008/09 season. Last year he enjoyed a successful loan spell at League One side Tranmere Rovers. Baxter has shown a lot of potential but he’s not yet reached that hype, maybe he can do well at Championship level.

Here is Baxter scoring against Forest. (Sorry for it being a bit blurry, it’s a YouTube clip)
