Nigel Clough has been under no pressure to sell the centre back but he did say offers may get to a stage were they are ‘too good to turn down’. The Lancashire Telegraph did this morning report that ‘Burnley’s hopes of signing Jason Shackell could yet be revived with Derby swaying back towards allowing the centre back to leave Pride Park.’ Richard Keogh is believed to be a target as a replacement for Shackell.
Nigel Clough has confirmed there have been enquiries for James Bailey and expects movement on the club’s transfer-listed players this week. The Manager said “We have had one or two calls about James Bailey but nothing firm at the moment, and that’s the same with Steven Davies”. South Yorkshire Championship outfit Barnsley are interested in the former Crewe central midfielder.
Callum Ball could be loaned out if Derby sign a more experienced striker. The 19 year old has made nearly thirty appearances now since making his first team bow against Cardiff. A loan spell would do him good if wasn’t getting a chance at Pride Park.
Derby are thought to be interested in signing Bristol City defender James Wilson. Wilson has been unable to make a sustained impact since Derek McInnes took charge at Ashton Gate and he was linked with a move away from the club in January and now he is likely to leave this summer. League one clubs Coventry City and Sheffield United are also reportedly interested. he is predominately a centre back but can also play at right back.
Derby are thought to have shown an interest in Leicester striker Martyn Waghorn along with Hartlepool and Bristol City. The Rams have shown interest in the former Sunderland man before.
Miles Addison is close to completing a move out of Pride Park, Bournemouth are the club that are set to be signing the 23-year-old defender to Dean Court on a permanent basis after the former England U-21 international spent a loan spell there. “I think with Miles we are close to getting something done with Bournemouth, hopefully this week.” However rumours on twitter said Peterborough have agreed a deal with Addison, that appears to be untrue.
