The Summer signing from Nottingham Forest is due to return to training this week after being sidelined with a groin injury. Nigel Clough told dcfc.co.uk – “Nathan is due to start training this week which is a big boost for everyone.“He’s had a frustrating time since joining us so it will be good to see him out on the training pitch with the rest of the lads.“We’re hoping to get a behind-closed-doors lined up for the middle of the week to give him half an hour in that and see how he is shaping up. Clough also went on to say that Nathan Tyson is desperate to make up for lost time and he is keen to win over fans after joining from The Rams’ local rivals.
Rams boss Nigel Clough is optimistic John Brayford will be in contention for Saturday’s game with Bristol City. He returned from injury to face Hull at home a couple of weeks ago and then played against West Ham, but the torn thigh muscle injury kept him out for the Brighton and Crystal Palace games last week. He has got a chance of making the team for Saturday’s game.
Rams second top goalscorer Steve Davies may be in contention for Saturday’s game after having a mask fitted from his fractured skull injury. Davies tweeted that he may be available to be involved against Bristol City but since Nigel Clough has dismissed that and said he “wouldn’t be risking him”. However Nigel Clough hopes he may be back before January.
Nigel Clough has said Rams top goalscorer Theo Robinson is on course to return from injury next weekend. He injured his hamstring in the defeat to Hull in November. Clough said “He is coming along well and if he progresses in the same manner then he will be in contention for the Ipswich game.” The Ipswich game is a week on Saturday (17th Dec) and On loan striker Tamas Priskin will be unavailable for selection as he is on loan from Ipswich.
