On the Wednesday Crystal Palace had beat Manchester United at Old Trafford 2-1 after extra time in the League Cup Quarter Finals. Would they be tired ? or full of confidence, well in fact they had made 10 changes to there team from Wednesday’s win. Paul Green started at right back for the rams as Brayford was out through injury.

After 15 minutes Derby conceded a deflected goal from the edge of the area, scored by Martin via Barker. For the second time in 3 days Derby had conceded a goal in the first 15 minutes. The Rams responded to that by creating a couple of chances but the players went in 1-0 down at Half Time. The Rams had a better 2nd half creating more chances and getting balls into the box. Finally with around 15 minutes left, Derby scored. A inviting Paul Green cross was met  by Palace defender McCarthy, who slid it into his own goal.

A well deserved point in the end for Derby. Click this link for Nigel Clough’s BBC Derby post-match interview- http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15885115.stm Rams league position (after Saturday and Sunday’s games) – 13th 25 points.
