A bit about new Rams loan signing Tamás Priskin

25 year old Hungarian international striker Tamas Priskin has signed for Derby County on loan from Ipswich Town until 2nd January 2012.  Here is a bit about the striker…

Before coming to England Priskin  started his Professional career with for Hungarian side Győri ETO FC, where he scored 24 goals between 2003 and 2006. In August 2006 he signed for then Premier League side Watford after a trail period at the club.  Watford signed Tamas on a four year deal for a undisclosed fee, thought by some sources to be around £150k but later believed to be as high as £1 million. In his first season in England (2006/2007) he scored 3 goals in 22 appearances but was unable to prevent relegation for the Hornets, finishing 11 points a drift from safety. In the 2007/2008 season Priskin struggled to make an impact, with Watford strikers Marlon king, Darius Henderson and Nathan Ellington usually being proffered in attack. In March 2008 Tamas Priskin signed on a 1 month loan for Preston North-End, playing 5 times and scoring twice. That season Priskin scored 2 goals in 20 games for Watford. In the 2008/2009 season Priskin was a regular in the Hornet’s starting line-up, he played 41 games and scored 14 times including a goal against Chelsea in the FA Cup. Priskin declined a new contract offer from Watford and joined Ipswich for a fee thought to be £1.7 million in August 2009. In his first season at Ipswich he made 19 appearances and scored 2 goals he also had a short loan spell at QPR in February 2010. Last season the Hungarian striker bagged 7 goals for Ipswich including a goal in the League Cup semi-final’s against Arsenal. He was loaned out again, this time to Swansea in March 2011. Tamas has 28 caps for Hungary and has so far scored 11 goals for his country. This season he has only made 1 appearance for Ipswich. Now on loan at Derby let’s hope he can bag some goals !! Come on you Rams !!!
