This season Derby’s team has been pretty young here is the YOUNG RAMS who have appeared for the first team this season. I have looked at all players under 21 at the club.

Conor Doyle

The 20 year old American joined the Rams in the summer of 2010 after a trial period. The Texan forward has represented The Rep. of Ireland and The USA at youth international but has now opted to represent USA. Doyle is a good young talent but he will find it tough to break into the first team.

Jeff Hendrick

The 19 year old Irishmen made his Rams debut against Burnley at Pride Park last season. This season Hendrick has been a ever present figure in the Derby County starting line up. He scored his first professional goal against Local rivals Forest in the famous 2-1 Derby win with 10 men in September. Hendrick is a great player and certainly one for the future.

Mark O’Brien

The 18 year old defender central defender made his Derby debut in 2009 on the last day of the season at Watford. This season O’Brien has been an excellent player, almost like a new signing. At only 18 playing in such a tough competitive league like the Championship is a great achievement, but to perform well week in week out is hard but O’Brien has done well. Sometimes you wouldn’t know think for a second he is a young teenager you would think he has played at this level for longer.

Callum Ball

The Powerful 19 year old striker scored 21 goals last season for Derby’s under 18’s. He made his first team debut as a sub against Cardiff City in the last game of the 2009/2010 season. and made his first start against Reading on the last day of last season. In July he signed a new three year contract which keeps him at Pride Park till at least 2014.

Mason Bennett

Bennett became the Ram’s youngest ever player last month when he made the starting line up in the away loss at Middlesbrough aged just 15 years and 99 days old. He made his Derby reserves debut aged just 14 and is a regular for the under 18 side. In total this season he has made 4 appearances (2 starts and 2 sub appearances) for the first team. He has represented England at under 16 and 17 level while still only 15. He is certainly a great prospect for the future and has even already been rumoured and linked with Man United.

Will Hughes

The 16 year old central midfielder made his debut as a late sub at Peterborough in November.
